Service was excellent! The food was amazing! Liza was very nice and helped with recommend-actions. She was spot on. We will definitely be back for the ribs, brisket and onion rings!
We visited Mono BBQ on a Wednesday night around 8pm. They were super accommodating to our massive party of 20 people, and the entire staff was warm and welcoming. I ordered a vodka mojito which was really well done, and then brisket with grits and onion rings. The brisket was great, and let me tell you these guys have such a nice selection of sauces! There's really something for everyone. The onion rings were super generous and really tasty, they basically gave me half an onion. My only pitfall was the grits - I think they were too garlicky (words I've never used in that configuration as I'm usually a "you can never have too much garlic" girl) and could've been balanced out better with a little more cheese. Everyone in my group had great things to say about the food here. Also their salads are a generous size! I'd definitely go back here if I lived in Jacksonville, but visiting from out of town, it was obvious that this place is great.
Huge portions on the whole hog! It serves 4-6 and comes with ribs, turkey, chicken, pulled pork, sausage and 4 sides. They offered to substitute meats for extra of something else, so we substituted the sausage for extra ribs. For sides, we ordered onion rings (upcharge), corn, fries and Cole slaw. All of the sides were good, but I would probably not get the corn again, personal preference. Food came out quickly, tasted great and service was friendly!
Shoutout to our local community! This amazing venue was recommended to us by a friend and we were not disappointed! Quaint and neighborhood feel. Clean and open space. Booth and table seating. Lots of savory food options and lots of beverages to pick from as well. We picked some refreshing ice tea to help us enjoy our bounty. I always enjoy our tradition of trying out all the sauces while we await our meal. Hubby always is the best partner in knowing what my taste buds should enjoy. We ordered burnt ends for our appetizer. It's literally like meat candy !! It really doesn't need sauce!! It's the bark that I love and my hubby picked out some of the best pieces out for me. Yummm! I can definitely say that I have not had ends this good in a long time. I did put some sauce on a piece or two, but I appreciate it best on its own. We ordered the "whole hawg" platter and for our sides we chose greens, black eyed peas, baked beans, garlic cheesy grits, and an extra side of macaroni cheese. The tray of savory meats came with slices of garlic bread as well. It was a balanced offering of turkey, chicken, sausage, pulled pork, brisket, and ribs!!! The patrons are happy, the staff is friendly and attentive, and the over music is amazing! We had to pack up at least half of the food, because this was a generous portion. But the leftovers will be our snacks for the next few days... aren't we living good?!? Yummm! We even got a big tea for the road! We have a new favorite BBQ to add to our Foodie collection!
It's been a while since we've eaten there. But, every New Year's dinner we get collards from Mojo. Add to our fried chicken and black eyed peas best dinner.
I really like the bbq here and the fact that they have a good mustard based sauce. I have had the Mojo Q Salad before with the meat combination and it was so big that I got half to go right off the bat. On this visit, I got the 2 meat combo with brisket (fatty) and turkey with Brunswick stew and green beans. The brisket and turkey were so tender and delicious. The stew had a good consistency that I like but honestly I though it as well as the beans were lacking flavor. The portions are good and the prices are on par. They do serve wine and beer although I have only been here for lunch so I haven't had any or enjoyed a happy hour here. Overall, it is sold bbq. My service has always been good and the servers are always on top of things.
Got there early and was seated right away. Place is like the other mojos but one big exception. No bar. They have beer and wine but nothing more. I had the 2 meat combo. Turkey and pulled pork. Sides were Brunswick stew and smoked corn. Best sides around. Can't go to mojos without trying. Actually anna tried mine and she asked for an additional side of smoked corn. That good! Anna had the salad with the pulled pork. It looked really good. Service was super fast. Food good and hot. Mojos is worth the trip. At any of them.
